The Golden Skybridge

Suspended 426ft over a canyon in the Columbia Valley is The Golden Skybridge, offering fantastic views of the Columbia Valley and Rocky Mountains. This wonderful park offers zip lining and not 1 but 2 suspension bridges. As you walk the bridge, you’ll be able to see Hospital Creek flowing below you. The experience really puts into perspective the beauty of the area you are in.

The Golden Sky Bridge was our first stop after our long first day of travel. Luckily for us it was on the same road as our lodging so, getting there was a quick 10 min drive. We didn’t plan on visiting the Sky Bridge but since it was right there we decided to give it a chance. For $46 CAN it was well worth it. The first attraction you see as you walk the trail is Treetop Village Play Park . This is for the adrenaline junkie toddlers and adult kids. It has treehouses and jungle gyms, seesaws, swings and small scale zip lines . We had a ton of fun trying to balance the seesaw and crashing into the trees on the zip line line.

After we got knocked around a few times, we went on a trail towards the skybridge. When you see it from the road it doesn't look as far of a walk as it really is . Once you take a few steps you can feel the bridge sway with every step. The views from the SkyBridge were spectacular the weather was perfect so we were able to see the depths of the canyon and the peaks of the mountain tops.

Once you cross over the first bridge, you get to the 2 different view points. We arrived a few weeks too early to be able to do the zip lining or the edge course, so we weren’t able to experience the full thrill of the skybridge. All and all it was a fun spontaneous experience to start off our vacation.
